Palm was lucky enough to catch some "significant attention" upon their last week announcement of their newest touchscreen-capable smartphone, The Palm Pre.
But what makes far more interesting aside from the product itself is the new mobile OS they are going to use first on Pre. They call it, the webOS.

According to Wiki, the said operating system is,
"designed for use with a touchscreen-based graphical user interface. It is provided with a suite of applications for personal information management and makes use of a number of web technologies such as XHTML, JavaScript and CSS.
The design around these existing technologies was intended to spare developers from learning a new programming language. The Palm Pre, scheduled for release during the first half of 2009, is the first device to run on this operating system.
Palm webOS will have a built in application catalog, and a development environment named Mojo will be available to software developers. However, webOS does not have support for legacy Palm OS software."
The concept that revolves around the OS suggesting Palm is really serious on dealing their current status in the eyes of critics and long-time fans whose hope of wanting a far more competitive and productive piece may be at long last been heard with this new approach Palm continuously developing.
